5 New Albums I’d Recommend =)

25 Jan

I picked some albums from late 2009 that I liked. 5 albums, each a different genre: dance, pop, rock, hip hop, r&b.

CLICK ON THE ALBUM COVER TO DOWNLOAD THE ALBUM. I uploaded them myself, so they’re safe. Enjoy! 😀

1. Lady Gaga – The Fame Monster

Genre: Electropop/Dance

The Skinny: Lady Gaga is up to her normal shenanigans, and she fails to disappoint. gaga oo la la, want her bad romance.

Fav tracks: Bad Romance, Speechless, Telephone

2. Timbaland – Shock Value II

Genre: Hip Hop

The Skinny: some pretty sick beats, equipped with the expected collabos (Keri Hilson, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado) and some unexpected ones (The Fray, Daughtry, Jet). Can’t say I’m really feeling the rocker collabos, or Timbo’s voice itself… lol.

Fav tracks: Say Something (ft Drake), Lose Control (ft Jojo), Undertow (ft The Fray)

3. John Mayer – Battle Studies

Genre: Soft Rock

The Skinny: a break-up album, infused with John Mayer’s usual quirky pessimism that somehow is optimistic at the same time, lol.

Fav tracks: Half Of My Heart (ft Taylor Swift), Perfectly Lonely, Friends, Lovers or Nothing

4. Alicia Keys – The Element of Freedom

Genre: R&B

The Skinny: raw, soulful and personal, exactly what I would expect from the princess of soul =)

Fav tracks: Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart, Distance and Time, Empire State of Mind (Part II)

5. Anjulie – Anjulie

Genre: Pop

The Skinny: w00t for local talent, this chick hails from Oakville. Album has a light, melodic vibe, is wistful and happy at the same time, and very pleasurable to listen to.

Fav tracks: Love Songs, I Want The World To Know, Rain
